2 living stone
Two living stones stood side by side on a hilltop in a peaceful valley surrounded by tall mountains. For as long as anyone could recall, they had been there; their surfaces were worn and smooth, but their hearts throbbed with an enigmatic vitality.
Eldra, one of the stones, was a rich maroon color with gold undertones. Her edges were rounded from centuries of weathering, and she was old and wise.
The other was a cool gray with silver veins that ran through him; he was gentle but powerful. His name was Kael. Originally, they had been a single, enormous boulder, but a natural force caused them to separate. Despite their physical separation, they maintained a spiritual bond.
Kael could feel the low vibration of Eldra’s voice as she hummed softly every morning as the sun kissed the valley. Kael would reply with a deep, resonant rhythm that echoed through the valley like thunder in the distance.
Only they and the wind that blew across the land knew the melody of their timeless song.
A young traveler once came to the valley in search of solutions to an old riddle. Although no one genuinely thought the living stones existed, he had heard tales of them.
He experienced a profound sense of wonder and tranquility upon arriving at the hilltop. He listened to the soft song they sang together while sitting between the stones and closing his eyes.
The stones sensed the young man’s presence and saw a desire for wisdom in his heart. Eldra’s voice became more distinct in that instant, and Kael’s rhythm became more powerful.
The traveler started to hear words instead of just vibrations, which was an odd development. Kael whispered strength, and Eldra spoke of patience.
They told him together about balance, how the fire, water, air, and earth all danced in unison, as they had done as a single entity.
Now that he understood, the young traveler grinned. He didn’t have to figure out the puzzle.
The stones had assisted him in discovering the answer that had always been inside of him. Grateful, he got up and walked out of thevalley, taking the humans.
The living stones continued to sing as he left, their melody ever-present, ever-reaching through time, resonating throughout the valley for everyone who would listen.
